Ares I-X Rollout Today

The Ares I-X rocket has moved inside the gate of Launch Pad 39B at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and has begun to ascend the ramp to the pad surface. The mobile launcher platform with the rocket attached is expected to be lowered on to the pad by 9 a.m. EDT. The 4.2-mile trip to the pad from the massive Vehicle Assembly Building began at 1:39 a.m. EDT.

Ares 1-X is scheduled to be launched on October 27th.
