90-Day Means - February 8, 2008

As the winter weeks pass, the 90-day mean temperature map of the contiguous United States illustrates that the overall trend thus far has been that of a warmer-than-average winter in the eastern half of the country, and a cooler than usual winter in the western half of the country. An imaginary line can be drawn from the Desert Southwest to the Great Lakes that divides the nation along the border of the areas where these two contrasting trends meet.
