More T-Storms Monday?
Monday June 30, 2008 06:30 AM

The surface analysis from 7AM shows a surface cold front over New England. If you follow the isobars (solid lines connecting points of equal barometric pressure) you can clearly see the "kink" in the lines corresponding to the front. This boundary is slowly pressing eastward and will make its way to the coast tonight. Ahead of the boundary southerly winds continue to transport very warm and humid air into Eastern New England. Dew points here on Cape Cod are once again near 70F. Meanwhile, to the west of the front, west winds are transporting noticeably cooler and drier air eastward (7AM observations from central NY show temperatures in the 60s with dew points in the 50s). During the day today we will watch this frontal boundary closely as it may become the focal point for developing showers and thunderstorms.
