Long Wet Road

Monday September 29, 2008 06:46 AM

We've endured a stretch of cloudy and wet weather over the last several days as two potent systems brought copious amounts of moisture northward and across the region. According to spotter reports into the National Weather Service, some parts of the Cape picked up over 6 inches of rain(!), with nearly the entire area seeing in excess of 3".

Unfortunately, while the worst of the weather is behind is, clouds will hang tough for the next few days and another batch of rain is likely Wednesday and Wednesday night. This surface weather map from NOAA's HPC office illustrates an approaching frontal system Wednesday morning. This front should be an active one with a solid band of showers and perhaps some thunderstorms moving eastward out ahead of it.

Thankfully, this system will be more progressive than its predecessors, meaning better weather should finally arrive by Thursday.
