CFS Outlook October 1st 2008

Wednesday October 1, 2008 07:04 PM

This article marks the beginning of bi-weekly postings regarding the Climate Forecast System's (CFS) seasonal temperature predictions. The CFS model is one tool used to help develop long-range global and hemispheric based weather forecasts. As you can probably see, the most current run of the model predicts a large and persistent area of at or below average temperatures across much of North America through the fall and winter. Could a cold winter season be in the works?? - Image courtesy of NOAA
